Foundation. Jazzation.

Mate is stability itself when it comes to the ensemble; he was actually praised at an international acappella workshop recently as having a truly exceptional acappella bass voice. Jazzation has experienced this on a daily basis, of course, and formed the conclusion long ago: you can sing without a good bass, but it definitely isn’t worth it.

Mate graduated from the Zoltan Kodaly Choir School in 2000, where choir singing became a vital part of his life. He pursued college studies of vocal education and choir instruction at Budapest and Pecs, before receiving his diploma from the Hungarian Music Academy in sacred music. Not merely a foundation for Jazzation, he was also a founding member: at the very beginning, the ensemble consisted of him and five girls. Jazz music has attracted him for quite a few years now, just like any other musical genre – his comprehensive musical experience makes him available for anything.

While his classical bass voice is coveted by several choirs, Mate has also studied jazz singing from Laszlo Hunyadi to enhance his Jazzation tone of voice. He sometimes participates in the Choir School alumni choir Cantate, and in graduating choir performances – but apart from Jazzation, he is a permanent member of only the Music Academy alumni choir New Franz Liszt Chamber Choir. As for his everyday work, Mate is the organist and colleague of the Pestszenterzsebet parish.
